TbXie's Flicker Strike Raider Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Necropolis)

TbXie

198

Summary – TL;DR

As per usual, nothing matters more than capping your Elemental Resistance before anything else. This means modifiers on gear are subordinate to Resistances as long as you’re not capped. Since you’ll be running a decent amount of Unique items, it’ll be important to look out for a lot of resistances on your Rare pieces!

We’re providing you with an extensive analysis further down the page but chose to start off with an overview / recommendation.

Our recommendation:

Item Slot Item Name
Head Heatshiver Heatshiver
Amulet Yoke of Suffering Yoke of Suffering
Chest Farrul's Fur Farrul's Fur
Gloves Rare Slink Gloves Slink Gloves with Suppression, Life, Attack Speed & Aspect of the Cat
Boots Darkray Vectors Darkray Vectors
Belt Darkness Enthroned Darkness Enthroned
Rings Double The Taming The Taming
Weapon Paradoxica Paradoxica
Shield Any Armor Shield with Life, Ailment Avoidance, Socketed Gems have Less Reservation

For crafting Rare items, you can check out all the affixes that can roll on an item base, depending on its level, influence, and many other factors, using our affix tool.

Armour Pieces

Helmet

We restructured the guide around the incredibly broken Heatshiver Heatshiver. This item is still one of your best options, even though it got nerfed in the ground. A lot of damage, resistances and some Evasion just makes for a solid helmet slot which will not be easy to acquire.

Body Armour

This is where you generate all of your Frenzy Charge sustain. Farrul's Fur Farrul's Fur is incredibly potent for the build, since it gives you Power Charges as well as Frenzy Charges. If you are adamant about playing Flicker Strike before being able to afford even a 5-linked piece, you can replace your weapon with a Terminus Est Terminus Est and your chest piece with whatever high Life piece you can find. Honestly though, Farrul’s Fur is the cornerstone of the build, and usually isn’t as expensive anymore as it once was. Try to get one as fast as you can!

Gloves

Gloves

This is honestly the only piece which requires a bit of insight. So I’ll be giving you some. First of all, you’re going to be on the hunt for a pair of Fractured Slink Gloves. Yes, Slink Gloves, because even if the base is like 80-100c, you really don’t want to hit a jackpot on a T3 base, do you? Well, if you do, then feel free to buy a cheaper, less optimal base item.
You can buy those gloves by clicking this link.

Once you acquired the Gloves, it’s important to understand that nothing can hurt your Attack Speed. You can’t divine, you can’t scour, it literallly cannot go away. Therefore, there’s 2 ways of doing this. If you want to go for Maximum tankiness, you can allocate the two Spell Suppression nodes to “Entrench” and as a consequence get T1 Chaos Resistance on your Gloves. I, however, chose not to do that. If you’re going for the Chaos Resistance route, you’re spamming Chaos Resistance essences, but I won’t be going into further detail on that path. That means you’re on the hunt for Suppression, an open suffix & an open prefix with a modifier of your choice.

The best way to go about this is to just hit it with Essences of Greed, as high as you want to invest, but ideally not below Shriekings. You’re also going to need a few Orb of Annulment Orb of Annulment. If you hit any Spell Suppression roll, but the item is full, you’re going to annul. The goal is to have Life, Fractured Attack Speed, Any Spell Suppression (Ideally 11 or more), an open suffix (mandatory), and either T1 or 2 Cold Damage to Attacks or an open Prefix. If you were to for example roll Life, random Prefix with Suppress & some random Resist roll, you’d try Annuling of the Resist.

Example of State of the item at this point:

Afterwards, you can finish off with an Aspect of the Cat craft in the Menagerie and a Benched mod you want (Damage during Flask effect or Flat Cold to attacks). Lastly, finish off the implicits as shown here underneath.

Boots

Rarely I see myself mentioning a Unique item in the boot slot. In this case however, while stacking so many Frenzies, Darkray Vectors Darkray Vectors is just too good to pass up on. This pair of boots gives you approximately 16% DPS as well as 65% Movement Speed and 18% Dodge chance. You really would prefer a pair that has the “Adds # to # Cold Damage if you’ve been Hit Recently” labyrinth enchant, as that adds such tremendous amounts of damage to this build.

Belt

Ideally, you want to run a Darkness Enthroned Darkness Enthroned here and socket a Tecrod's Gaze Tecrod's Gaze (elsewhere, not in the belt, as you can cap crit without it being in there) which is absolutely nutty with a Darkness Enthroned. For starters, you can get by with an 80% roll but I recommend getting a 99% as soon as possible. Your second jewel in there needs to be tailored around your other Murderous Jewels. Depending on what stat you still need (Intelligence, Accuracy are usually the ones you lack most of, and you can put in here because of the extra effect. If you don’t need any attributes, accuracy or resistances, you can get insane damage here). Just make sure you’re running 3 Murderous Jewels to cap out Tecrods Gaze’s crit chance.

Accessories

Amulet

Even though at very high budgets, Yoke of Suffering Yoke of Suffering can be beaten, the build is super hungry for resistances & kind of wants you to pick up resistances on uniques that can fight for BiS. Yoke fills that slot really well.

Anoint

Disembowling is thé best notable you can anoint giving you about everything you could want. Grab it as fast as possible.

Rings

If you’re down to give up some Life, 2x The Taming The Tamings and a Yoke of Suffering Yoke of Suffering give you the same amount of damage. Make sure to Catalyse both the Yoke & the Tamings though as you’ll need Attributes/Elemental Damage from them. This is a way cheaper alternative, especially early on and gets you a LOT of resistances you otherwise need to find on Jewels, Tree, Belt, …

Weapon

This part of the tech I picked up elsewhere, but Paradoxica Paradoxica is incredibly suited for the build. Basically, ever since the introduction of specific modifiers on gear and stuff like Awakened Added Cold Damage Support Awakened Added Cold Damage Support or Ice Bite Support Ice Bite Support, we really don’t need any base damage on the weapon for it to feel great. Getting double the effectiveness of these support gems, added flat damage from all sources and all our multipliers is pretty insane for this build. As for the variables on Paradoxica, I feel like the “Attacks with this Weapon Penetrate 10% Elemental Resistances” is probably the best modifier where as a second one Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance are pretty close. Getting any combination of those should be fine. Do note that the best Paradoxica is probably the one that has both the Penetration & Attack Speed paired with Strength & Intelligence.

Note : Early Game, when Paradoxicas are expensive, you can get the versions which have Attack Speed when a Rare or Unique Enemy is nearby, this one is generally almost free & basically does the same job (loses you a little bit of map clear)

Shield

The shield is basically what allows you to run all your Auras. Do note that you need to find 30% Ailment Avoidance to reach cap. This is also your only rare, meaning you have to find one with an empty suffix to craft Aspect of the Cat.

  1. Socketed Gems have # increased Reservation Efficiency
  2. #% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments (Enough to cap)
  3. Grants level 20 Aspect of the Cat
  4. +# maximum Life (at least 90)

Flasks

I believe flasks are highly preference-based. One isn’t just outright better than another one for specific / certain builds. Obviously, sometimes, there’s a set in stone set of Flasks you should be using just because they synergize with your build so well. I wouldn’t say those really exist in this setup, but I’d strongly advise you to stick with the setup listed here.

The choice of Ascendancy offers us the option to go for a lot of Unique Flasks here, and damage suffixes as it gives you Elemental Ailment immunity. This means, you’re no longer worried about having to find Shock and Freeze immunity on your magic Flasks. The two Unique Flasks we’re suggesting are Bottled Faith Bottled Faith and the long forgotten Vessel of Vinktar Vessel of Vinktar!

The omnipresent Bottled Faith Bottled Faith. Through the crit chance, the increased damage taken and the solid base it’s on, I can solidly claim this flask remains a ridiculously strong item even after being gutted in one of the previous patches. On the upside, though, it’s less expensive than it used to be and thus more widely available for Flicker players.

As for your last unique Flask, I realized that the Vessel of Vinktar Vessel of Vinktar is actually a fairly solid choice in the build. Since you can’t get shocked, as of Raider’s Elemental Ailment Immunity, there really is no downside to the Flask. While otherwise being unable to shock enemies, the Flask adds a ridiculous 14% Damage and a decent amount of Lightning Damage mitigation. Very solid Flask, actually, which honestly is probably currently underused. Make sure to pick up the variant that adds Damage to Attacks during Flask effect and not any of the other ones.

Otherwise, the none unique Flasks you want to run in this build are a Jade Flask Jade Flask with Critical Strike Chance, which provides you with some Damage and tankiness. Additionally, an Amethyst Flask Amethyst Flask with Attack Speed is nice. Lastly, as you do sometimes get hit, a panic button in a Divine Life Flask Divine Life Flask is probably recommended. Before getting a Bottled Faith, or if you feel the need to reamin more tanky & have less boss Damage, you can run a Stibnite Flask.

Regardless of which utility Flasks you go for and whether you follow our recommendations or not, you’ll need to stick to the suffixes we have picked for you (Staunching, Warding). The affixes on your non-unique Flasks can be changed around, but I recommend the following setup (based on the Flask duration, charges, and affix priorities):

Our recommendation:

Slot Flask
1 Bubbling Divine Life Flask Divine Life Flask of Allevation
2 Chemist’s Jade Flask Jade Flask of Incision
3 Bottled Faith Bottled Faith
4 Vessel of Vinktar Vessel of Vinktar
5 Silver Flask Silver Flask of the Dove

*Remark: Vessel of Vinktar (Adds Lightning Damage to Attacks) Vessel of Vinktar (Adds Lightning Damage to Attacks) can be changed out for Atziri's Promise Atziri's Promise if you prefer some Chaos Resistance over extra Damage. If you opt into the Vinktar’s, make sure you get a lightning damage to attacks roll on it and not another variant as they do close to nothing for you.*

Be sure to check out our Flask Crafting Guide to learn everything you need to know about how to set up your non-Unique flasks.

Jewels

Unique Jewels

An Intuitive Leap Intuitive Leap is nice because it saves you a ton of points. It might be a tad expensive. Following that, the Watcher's Eye Watcher's Eye which give you Added # to # Cold Damage when you’re using hatred because it’s double as effective with Paradoxica.

Regular Jewels

Fill up any rare Murderous jewels with Life, Multi, Attributes, Accuracy, …
